Leather Colour Trends: The Green Edit

Green colour trend

Undeniably versatile and timeless, green has been celebrated on the catwalks and in interior design for much of the year – and it’s about to dominate the incoming autumn/winter season. It’s little wonder the soothing tones of green translate so effectively in the world of leather. Here, we take a look at the benefits this sophisticated colour can bring to any industry and consider how it’s best applied to furniture and other interior design features.

Rich, darkened greens

Strong, emboldened hues have been the focal point of 2019 interiors – moody blues, burnt oranges and enriched burgundies continue to take their place in the spotlight. But ahead of the new season, we’ll also see a lot of wonderfully deep greens creeping into the mix too. Yarwood’s Tapestry from the Origin range is a striking two-tone teal shade with a distressed look that’s ideal for seating to complement interiors shifting toward bolder design. It’s calming but, at the same time, statement-making and works brilliantly with natural elements and neutral shades.

Forest greens

Whether you’re going for statement furniture or subtle undertones, forest green shades help to encourage a calming feel and work to create the ultimate relaxation space. Part of Yarwood’s Heritage range, Fern offers a classic and confident look for seating and gives a nod to the biophilic design that works so well in hospitality and office space. Pay attention to the colour of leather and when used alongside other elements, it can help with our need to connect to the natural environment, which in turn has been proven to boost productivity levels.

Prestigious greens

Dark and formal-looking greens signify prestige and luxury – they’re ideal for contemporary waiting rooms and industrial-themed restaurants or hotels that play with the dark and moody palette of Scandi noir. However, it’s also an elegant colour for car interiors. Suede Green, for example, exudes class and is the epitome of luxury.

Natural greens

Green is said to represent the growth and harmony of nature so naturally, it’s a popular choice for hotels and spas whose interiors are particularly focused on health and wellbeing. Paler green tones are serene and restful on the eye, making for a calming environment away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day living. Used in seating and other furniture, this shade of green can beautifully complement overarching themes of nature and zen-like spaces.

Go green with accessories

If out-and-out statement style isn’t appropriate for your project, use accents of green to stunning effect by getting experimental with accessories. Scatter cushions, drape throws and make a feature of textured woven fabrics – all in varying forms of green – and present them against a neutral backdrop.

Green used in design is the perfect representation of peace, balance and nature. What’s more, its gender neutrality makes it an inclusive colour that’s ideal for any setting so the opportunities for design are endless.
