Leather Colour Trends: The Grey Edit

Blending the neutral tones of black and white, grey is a popular choice for interior design. For some, grey can be seen as a mood dampening tone, we’re challenging this by showcasing how grey leather tones can be used in seating design.

Comforting home seating

Softer grey tones can be used in home interiors to create calming spaces to relax in.

Contemporary Boardrooms

Grey offers a relaxed alternative to black. Still providing an air of authority and seriousness, grey leather tones which have character and tonality can also help to relax a traditional boardroom scheme.

Seating: The Catalyst, Newcastle by Design North and Sven London Showroom both featuring Origin Rune

Constructive collaboration

Within workspace breakout spaces, greys can be used to stabilise more vibrant tones.

Add detail

Keeping seating simple can bring elegance into a design. The Tattu brand shows how grey leather tones can keep a unified look not only in one design but across multiple restaurants. Utah in Anthracite is used in all Tattu restaurants, however the detail is what makes each restaurant seating unique.

In Leeds, seating features the simple ‘T’ debossed on the back of Telegraph Contract Furniture seating, whereas the Edinburgh restaurant gold embroidery was chosen to enhance both booth seating and dining chairs.
