White Ball Inn, Tiverton

A nod to history and a mix of leather seating has brought a new life to the White Ball Inn at Tiverton.

The town of Tiverton boomed in the early 18th Century due to its wool trade, throughout time the industry has peaked and crashed but is still respected today with its Heathcoat textile factory.

It is this heritage which captured and brought back to life in the redesign of the former coaching inn, the White Ball Inn. The team at KDPA were tasked with designing a refreshed look for this pub, spreading over two floors whilst staying true to the roots of this establishment.

The main bespoke feature in this design is the carpet. Depicting the cogs of time turning, the White Ball Inn has stayed a constant in the community. KDPA wanted “a traditional feel with warm pub values, to continue the site’s heritage. A mixture of textures and patterns referencing the lace and textile industry which is so significant to Tiverton.”

Leather seating brings in a new look

Yarwood Leather provided a mix of tones from our Heritage, Mustang and Origin ranges for patron seating across the ground floor.

Booth seating with fluted back detail in Heritage Sage is accompanied by stools upholstered in Lapis, a rich blue tone from our Origin fixed distressed leather range.

Mustang Tan was used on dining seating and booth seating again with fluted back detail.

Pyramid from the Origin range can also be seen with stud detail on dining chairs in the space.

Not only leather seating, the mixing of textures and materials can be seen on high stools, where Origin Pyramid has been paired with a complementing fabric.

A darker shade from the Origin range, Totem, complements the wood finish on stool seating. Whereas Mustang Oxblood showcases its natural characteristics on more booth seating.
