The Keys by Collards Upholstery

For over 60 years the team at Collards Upholstery in Brentwood have been offering a complete upholstery service which sees them restoring classic Chesterfield seating and refurbishing seating locally and across the world.

One of their latest projects is The Keys pub, based in The Tower of London. Formally known as the Yeoman Warders Club, The Keys is only open to the resident Beefeaters and their guests and has recently had a seating transformation thanks to Collards Upholstery.

Completed in three stages, the seating throughout The Keys now features Yarwood Leather’s Mustang and Heritage ranges, each with individual upholstery to suit their environment.

Collards Upholstery were chosen to supply 18 feet of new bar seating for the first phase of this project, the ‘snug area’. After the early completion of this first stage, came a refit of the seating area in The Keys bar. Integral to the design was a gold embroidery motif, which represents the emblem of the Yeoman and Keys bar. Four of these motifs were embrodiered on to Yarwood Leather’s Heritage in colour Redcurrant in by Yarwood’s in house leather embroidery team.

The depth of colour of the Heritage Redcurrant, with the added gold embroidery, worked perfectly across seven sections of seating, combined wiith antique copper clad tables supplied by Collards Upholstery.

The final stage of the project featured Yarwood Leather’s green tone of Mustang Moss. For the reupholstery of dining chairs in the office of General of the Yeoman Guards, the distressed look leather was upholstered with large antiqued metal nails.

On working on this project, with Yarwood Leather as a supplier, Collards Upholstery said, “Yarwood Leather were fantastic in sharing the project and made it feel they were actually wanting to be involved, not just a supplier.”
