Fogging

Leather is often used in car interiors, which is a confined space that can be subject to high temperatures and humidity when used in a temperate climate. Under these conditions some of the substances in the manufacture of leather can evaporate and condense on the windscreen causing it to mist up. This test measures how much the leather will contribute to the fogging that can happen and could impair driver visibility.
