Chrome VI
Method: DD CEN/TS 14495:2003
The substance Chrome VI gained notoriety in the film Erin Brokovich for causing health problems near a tannery and rightly so with this carcinogen. Chrome VI is not commonly found in leather any more and should NOT be confused with the commonly found (and so safe they use it in vitamin tablets) Chrome III. This test is a European standard that ensures that any Chrome VI is at low levels so that it would pose no health risk.
