Method: JAR/FAR 25.853 a (appF) pt1 para (1)1

Aviation FR is a mandatory requirement from the JAA (Joint Aviation Authority) who guard the European Skies and their American counterparts the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority). This requirement specifies that all leather used for seating must be batch tested (as opposed to annually) and receive a pass. The aviation authorities are some of the most safety conscious folk in the world and hence the difficulty of this test.
